Hello, families!
Below are updates for Team Legacy's core classes for this upcoming week.
ELA:
We are well into the Ground Zero book. Students are working on chapters 15-22 and completing the corresponding reading guide.
I have talked with all classes about using complete sentences and details from the book in their answers because our first set of responses was not at grade level. Students have received a mid-quarter grade based on their reading guides. These grades can be found in PowerSchool. If your student does not have grades, please encourage them to complete the reading guide through chapter 14 and turn it into me for their grade.
I have attached the checklist and important dates document below. All students have received a paper copy and can find the document in the Learn folder. When the Learn folder is due, these assignments should be completed by the end of the day on October 10th.
Math:
Learners are starting section 2 of chapter 1 this week. It's primary focus is on integer operations. The quiz on this material is tentatively scheduled for next Thursday, 9/26. As with the first quiz, learners will be given a handful of problems that will be helpful to review beforehand. The homework assignments for this week are outlined below:
Science:
Learners will be completing their show projects and conferencing for our Functions of Cells unit that is due on Friday, September 27th. Below are the requirements for this project, which is also the back page of their packet for this unit. Once completed, learners are welcome to move on to our next unit: Photosynthesis and Cellular Respiration.
Social Studies:
Learners are working through the last lesson in our first unit, focusing on European Colonization. For the next week and a half, students will work at their own pace to complete research on 3 Learning Targets before completing a show project! The following Learning Targets are found in their learn folder and have expected turn-in times on the following dates;
