Below you will find information on spring conferences coming up in mid-February and course updates from our core 7th-grade Team Legacy courses.
Spring Conferences
PTC Fast invitations will be sent out at the end of the school day on Thursday, January 30th. Heritage administration wants the link for all teams to go out on this day to minimize confusion and anxiety surrounding the occasion. We will have 5 slots per 15-minute time slot available. In the event you are not able to make it into the building on the dates below, please let us know and we will send home your student's portfolio to walk through the material and gain a parent/guardian signature to let us know they had a successful conference with you!
Conference Dates
Monday, February 10th - 4:30-8:00 pm
Thursday, February 13th - 4:30-8:00 pm

Science:
Students are actively working with natural selection this week in a whole-group activity and in an individual project. In the whole-group activity, we will be conducting a natural selection simulation on Wednesday with hunting the chameleons students designed to gather data and analyze the results. The individual project is called "Build-a-Beast" and is due on Tuesday, February 4th. They have been given the option to either complete 2 drawings or 1 essay based on the instructions in their yellow packet. Students will be implementing their knowledge of natural selection to better equip their beasts with the skills and characteristics to survive in their given environment. Conferencing will be conducted starting next week to give students feedback and allow them to showcase their understanding of this unit so far. This project will be an artifact in their portfolios for student-led conferences in mid-February.
SS:
This week, we are working through learning target two on our newest unit – Jacksonian Democracy. This unit has primarily comprised of "at your own pace" work. This, tied in with instruction, will go until Wednesday 1/29. After that, we will begin working on our show project! Here, students will have to design a poster that depicts Andrew Jackson as either a hero or villain (and back up their reason for doing so)! You will be able to see these posters at conferences!
