Early-May Updates

Our team had some key information to pass along, so we decided to do a quick blog blast!

ELA:
Students are finishing up the last novel of the year (A Long Walk to Water), and to celebrate, we will be watching the movie, The Good Lie. This movie is rated PG-13 due to some of the depictions of the walk across Sudan to get to a refugee camp. Please let me know before Monday if you would like me to find an alternative to the movie.

Students will begin their final ELA unit, Narrative Writing, next Thursday. We will be reviewing narrative elements, and then they will be working on writing a historical fiction narrative. This story will pair with the presentation and research they are completing in Social Studies. All students will be asked to have their stories turned in by May 16th, and then presentations will be completed that week as well. The last week of school, we will be doing some narrative scavenger hunts using picture books.
